Agnes Szerencsits

SZERENCSITS - Agnes (nee Ifkovits), of Clifton, died Thursday May 24, 2007. Born in Northampton, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Szerencsits was raised in Austria and returned the United States at the age of fourteen. She lived in Passaic for 35 years before moving to Clifton in 1965 and residing there since. In 1962, she retired from the Samuel Hird Co. and had previously been employed with the Botany Mills Co., formerly of Passaic for many years as a burler / mender.
Mrs. Szerencsits was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Passaic where she was a former member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society and the Golden Agers. She was a member of the Burgenlaender Society of Passaic.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Szerencsits. Devoted mother of John and his wife Johanna and Edward and his wife, Johanna, all of Clifton. Dear sister of William Ifkovits of Nazareth, PA, Anthony Ifkovits of Northampton, PA, Mary Solomon of Whitehall, PA; and six predeceased brothers. Loving grandmother of Diane DeLorenzo and her husband, Richard, Maryann Szerencsits, John Philip Szerencsits and Suzanne Forysiak and her husband, Mark. Loving great-grandmother of Thomas and Matthew DeLorenzo and Mia and Lena Forysiak.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:15 am from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10:00 am at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, cor. Hope Ave. and Harrison St., Passaic. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
