Audrey Joan Mulligan

Audrey Joan (nee LaPlaca) Mulligan, of Clifton, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. Audrey was born August 5, 1935 to John LaPlaca and Lena (nee Monachino) LaPlaca. She graduated in 1956 from St. Mary's Nursing School in Passaic and worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. She owned Jimmy Jim's Grill in Garfield for 50 years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Maureen Nejmeh and her husband Mark; two sons, Robert James Mulligan and his wife Viola and Thomas James Mulligan and his wife Jolanta; four grandchildren, Lindsay Nejmeh and her husband Eldar Ben-Yosef, Alyssa Nejmeh and her boyfriend Aashish Nirbhya, Tricia Nejmeh and her boyfriend Michael Fego and Robert James Mulligan, Jr.; and her favorite dog Simba.
She was predeceased by her husband James Mulligan and her companion Robert Biss.
Audrey was a member of the St. Mary's Guild for many years. She loved to go to Atlantic City, taking vacations with her family, the beach and going to dinner with friends. She will be greatly missed.
Visiting will be held Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
