Carl J. Shortman, Sr.

Carl J. Shortman, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Born and raised in Passaic, Mr. Shortman resided in Clifton for most of his life. Before retirement, he had been employed as an airplane mechanic with American Airlines for 37 years. For the last 20 years, he was a part-time employee of Hertz rental car in Teterboro. Carl was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Stephen R.C. Church, Passaic.
He was predeceased his wife, Alice (nee Papcun) Shortman in 2004.
Survivors include: his four children, Carl Shortman, Jr. and his wife, Mary, Thomas Shortman, Nancy Goll and her husband, Christopher and Christine Pankewicz and her husband, Thomas; and three grandsons, Austin, Andrew and Aidan Goll.
Funeral services are 10:45 am Thursday from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 11:30 am Mass at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 223 Third Street, Passaic. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
