David J. Reck

RECK- David Joseph, 56, of Cedar Grove died Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Born in Paterson to Thelma (nee McGinley) and Thomas Reck on September 10, 1960, he lived there for most of his life. From 2001-2010, he resided in Haledon at Living in Freedom Group Home before moving to Spectrum for Living in Glen Rock in 2011 and then to St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Cedar Grove in 2014.
Mr. Reck was a parishioner and former Altar Server at St. Brendan's RC Church, Clifton. He had been a member of Troop #15 of Clifton and participated at the Passaic County Elks Adult Training Center in Clifton. For many years, David participated in Special Olympics. "He loved The Monkees, the NY Mets and anything Irish."
He was predeceased by his mother, Thelma McGinley Reck, on February 12, 2017.
Survivors include: his father, Thomas Reck his sister, Miriam Salvemini and her husband, Patrick of Hawthorne, NJ; his two brothers, Frank Reck and his wife, Diane of Leland, NC and Thomas Reck and his wife, Denise of Elmwood Park, NJ; and his loving nieces, nephews and his grand nephew.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to David's friends and care givers at St. Vincent's who cared for him lovingly, as David would sing, "You are so beautiful to me." The family also thanks the many doctors and nurses at St. Joseph's ICU who made the last several days of David's life as comfortable as possible and offered solace to the family.
Funeral Services will be 9:15 am Saturday from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton and 10:00 am at St. Brendan's RC Church, cor. Lakeview & Crooks Ave., Clifton. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
