Edward M. Kohler

Edward M. Kohler, 91, of North Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Born in Paterson, Mr. Kohler resided in West Paterson before moving to North Caldwell in 1954. As a Master Carpenter, Mr. Kohler was the owner of Kohler Construction Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a Vice-President of the Kiwanis Club in Fairfield.

Mr. Kohler served honorably in the United States Navy as a medical corpsman during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion Singac Post 108.

As a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Angels R.C. Church in Little Falls, Mr. Kohler served as an usher, a former choir member and coordinator of the food pantry for over 25 years. Mr. Kohler was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Highway Council 3835 in Little Falls.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Johanna (nee Ryndle) Kohler; three sisters, Joan Tayler, Julia Zarpaylic and Anna Klakowski; and a brother George Kohler.

Survivors include: his beloved wife, Theda (nee Fisher) Kohler; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.
