Elizabeth Victoria Ross, born 1959 died prematurely at the age of 57 on July 5, 2017 in Paterson, New Jersey. Elizabeth, the daughter of Everett C. Ross and Emilia E. Rome Ross was born in Paterson, New Jersey and grew up in Totowa, New Jersey, having attended Totowa Schools, Passaic Valley High School, and The Hun School in Princeton. Elizabeth went on to graduate with honors from the Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York in 1981. She pursued further studies at Oxford University in London, England. Elizabeth had a love for many things in life including travel, horseback riding, all sports and activities, but she also pursued a very academic life and was incredibly well read, well rounded and had an incredible ability to converse on many topics. From an early age, among her many joys in life were reading and researching many different aspects of life. Unfortunately, illness struck her at an early age and although she suffered, she continued her pursuit of her many interests bedside until her passing this past summer in the only home she knew, a residence her talented father built for the family himself. Elizabeth was also a prolific writer and was in the process of finalizing her book Windswept for which she sought publication at the time of her passing. That book is said to be available through Amazon. Elizabeth's parents Everett Ross, a well-respected mason specializing in chimney construction was loved by many in North Jersey as an affable and caring person. He passed in 2013. Her mother, Emilia Rome, a celebrated gym teacher in the Paterson School System, passed in 2014. Emilia was one of America's longest-serving teachers in the country. Elizabeth leaves 11 first-cousins and many second-cousins. Funeral services were handled by Bizub-Parker Funeral Home and sincere thanks go to Toby Bizub who made special arrangements for her and her family and to her good friend, Jacqueline Panico of Paterson, New Jersey who provided friendship and companionship during a good part of her life. Elizabeth's ashes will be interred this week in a private ceremony near her mother and close to her grandparents Emilio F. and Vittoria Rome at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Totowa. Services are private. Information about Elizabeth and her family can be provided by Joseph A. Mecca, Esq. of Totowa, NJ
