Ellen O'Keeffe

Ellen (nee Coleman) O'Keeffe, 89, of Clifton passed away peacefully on May 26, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Cork, Ireland, Mrs. O'Keeffe came to the United States in 1956, settling in Paterson before moving to Clifton in 1960 and has resided there since. She was a homemaker and an avid bingo player, enjoying playing at many churches in Clifton as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton. She was a parishioner of St. George RC Church in Paterson.
Mrs. O'Keeffe was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael O'Keeffe; by two sons: Michael O'Keeffe, Jr. and Timothy O'Keeffe; and by one sister, Hannah Griffin.
She is survived by three devoted children: Patrick O'Keeffe of Clifton, Ellen Balcom and her husband, Frederick, of Waretown and Ann Slavichak and her husband, Greg, of Clifton; four sisters: Mary Gamble of Ireland, Kitty Goldberg of England, Bridget of England and Tessie O'Connell of Clifton; eight grandchildren: Shiabon, Freddy, Dumitri, Timmy, Sean, Ellie, Angelica and Christopher; eight great-grandchildren: Christian, Jayson, Michaela, Alize, Dumitri, Destiny, Isaiah and Sean; and one great-great-grandson, Jaxson.
Visiting will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Thursday 11:30 am from the funeral home and 12:00 noon at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Clifton. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be preferred and appreciated.
