Ernest Frank Szabo

Ernest Frank Szabo, 69, of Lakewood passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Szabo lived in Garfield, Clifton, Vernon, Butler and Lakewood. He had been employed as a machine tender at Garden State Paper, Garfield, then as a security guard at the Meadowlands Racetrack and then head of security at Ramapo High School, Franklin Lakes. Mr. Szabo was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Now retired, he spent his time baking and being a beloved Grandpa.
He is predeceased by his wife, the former Deborah A. Serino; his parents, Alex and Jane (nee Tegza) Szabo; and his brother, Robert Szabo.
Survivors include: his children, Thomas Szabo and his wife, Vikki of Sparta, Michael Szabo of Sparta and Nicole Szabo of Worcester, MA; his sister, Priscilla Davis and her husband, Jim of Lakewood; his grandchildren, Althea Richer, Angelina Szabo, Adeline Szabo and Eric Chagnon; and his partner, Mary Jander of Lakewood.
Visiting hours are Friday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Services are 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
