Harry Manoliadis, 94, of Woodland Park, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday November 22, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Born August 15, 1923 in the small village of Volada on the island of Karpathos, Greece, he immigrated to the US in 1948. He was a founding partner of the Golden Star Diner in Little Falls, NJ which opened in 1955, and he operated along with his partners for forty years. In retirement he enjoyed frequent trips to Atlantic City and summers in Greece.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Vassiliki. Devoted father to daughter Irene Sempepos and husband Peter, daughter Kathy Conti and husband Ken, son Bill Manoliadis and wife Elaine. Cherished grandfather to Vikki Ikonomidis and husband Bill, Sabrina and Frank Conti, Theoharis and Bobby Manoliadis. Loving brother to Pipitsa Manoliadis. He was predeceased by his dear siblings Sophia and Michael, and parents Vassilios and Irene Manoliadis.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27th from 4-8pm at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave. Clifton, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 28th at 10am, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton NJ. Please meet at church. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in his name.
