Joan T. Bloetjes

Joan T. (nee Papasso) Bloetjes, 84, of Clifton, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Bloetjes (2014). Devoted mother of Susan Puglise, Barbara Pires and her husband, Kenneth and Christopher Bloetjes. Cherished grandmother to Kenneth Pires and his wife, Chelsea, Christian Pires and his wife, Catherine, Matthew Pires and his wife, Nichole, Michele Puglise and Jessica Pires. Loving great-grandmother of Taylor Michele Pires. She will be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews and by her beloved dog, Teddy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Jean (nee San Severino) Papasso; her brother, Frank Papasso; and her sister, Susan Papasso.
Born in Paterson, NJ she resided in Clifton for the last fifty years. Joan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in her home and family. Joan worked for twenty years in Clifton City Hall before retiring. She was a seamstress, Girl Scout Leader and Regina-Mundi Knights of Columbus Columbiette. Her passions included cooking, reading and keeping an immaculate home.
Visiting hours Friday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services are 9:15 am Saturday at the funeral home and 10:00 am Mass at St. Brendan R.C. Church, corner of Lakeview Ave. and Crooks Ave., Clifton. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
