Joseph Asfour, 77, of Clifton, passed away at his home on November 27, 2018. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Joe moved to Clifton in 1972. He graduated from Pratt Institute of New York with a degree in architecture. Joe was the owner of ALZRA Design of Newark, an architecture firm specializing in commercial and residential buildings. Until recently, he also maintained an office in Paterson. Joe was a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Architects League of Northern New Jersey (ALNNJ). Joe was an avid saltwater fisherman out of Atlantic Highlands and Belmar and loved going on cruise trips. He had been a parishioner of Our Lady of Lebanon R.C. Church in Brooklyn. Joe was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War having served honorably from 1959 to 1961.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Alma (nee Hajjar) Asfour; and two brothers, Louis and Michael Asfour.
Survivors include: his sister, Sister Wilda Asfour, SC of Bronx, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 am from the funeral home followed by an 11:00 am Mass at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 216 Comly Road, Lincoln Park. Private cremation to follow.
