Josephine L. Rowbotham

Josephine "Cookie" (nee Alesso) Rowbotham, 77, of Clifton, passed away on November 7, 2018. Born and raised in Passaic, Mrs. Rowbotham resided there before moving to Clifton in 2000. Before her retirement, She was employed as a Lunch Lady in the cafeteria of St. Nicholas School and St. Anthony School, both in Passaic. Mrs. Rowbotham was a faithfull parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Passaic. Most important in her life was family. She simply enjoyed and cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Cookie, as she was known to family and friends, was predeceased by her husband, Richard in 1999 and one brother, Frank Alesso.
Survivors include: her three devoted children, Lori A. Rowbotham, Richard Rowbotham and Edward Rowbotham and his wife, Lisa; one brother, Andrew Alesso and three loving grandchildren, Austin, Evan and Roman.
Visiting will be held Friday from 4 to 9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 am from the funeral home followed by an 11:30 am Mass at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 101 Myrtle Avenue @ Oak Street in Passaic. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
