Marilyn "Dink" Vander Berg

MARILYN FERN "Dink" VANDER BERG, 83, of Palm Harbor, Florida died Sunday receiving the loving care of her family.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Little Falls before moving to Palm Harbor, Florida 23 years ago. Before moving to Florida, Marilyn was a stay at home mom and at the age of 40 earned her LPN license and was employed at Barnert Hospital and various mediacl practices in the area. When Marilyn moved to Florida she worked for nursing agencies, then a physicians group and finally for Hemophilia of the Sunshine State.
A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, while in New Jersey, she was a member of the Little Falls UMC and in Florida was a member of Palm Harbor UMC. Marilyn was active in the Highland Lakes Women's Club of Palm Harbor, enjoyed all the women she played Bunco with every month, volunteered for Community Pride Child Care and their various fundraisers. Marilyn also loved to volunteer serving Thanksgiving dinner (always at the dessert table) for the Pre-Thanksgiving dinner in the North Greenwood area in Clearwater.
Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, Herman Vander Berg, on July 22, 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda McDonald and her husband, Brian of Oldsmar, FL; her son, Rick Ritacco and his wife, Audrey of Somers, CT; her two grandchildren, Ricky Ritacco and his wife Samantha, Alison Ritacco; her step grandson, David McDonald and his husband Geoffrey Berry and her two great grandchildren, Aryia (4) and Ryland Ritacco (1). And we can't forget her little dog and best buddy, Toby.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Saturday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Visitation on Friday from 4-8 pm.
