Marilyn DeHaas

Marilyn (nee Szymanski) DeHaas, 64, of Clifton, passed away on Friday, December 29th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born and raised in Passaic. She graduated from Passaic High School before attending Kean College where she obtained her bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Before retiring in 2015, Marilyn worked for General Information Services for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
Marilyn was predeceased by her father Edward Szymanski; her sister-in-law Shirley DeHaas; and her brother-in-law Kenneth DeHaas.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Joseph DeHaas; her sons Joseph E. DeHaas and Steven J. DeHaas and his wife Leeann DeHaas; by her mother Jean Szymanski; her brother Edward Szymanski, and his wife Diane Szymanski; nephew Justin Szymanski; brother-in-law John DeHaas; sister-in-law Catherine DeHaas; nephew Timothy DeHaas; nieces Laura Nelke, Bethann and her husband Gary Anderson, Jaime and her husband Michael Sherrer; and her great nephews Michael Sherrer, Cody Sherrer and Andrew Anderson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3rd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 4th at 10:30am at the Funeral Home.
