Michael J. Chiodo

Michael J. Chiodo, 73, of Clifton passed away on September 19, 2018.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Chiodo was raised in Lodi and after marriage, moved to Clifton where he has resided since. Prior to retiring, he had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-seven years as a Letter Carrier. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Chiodo was a faithful parishioner of St. Agnes RC Church in Paterson where he had also served as an Usher. Years ago he had been very involved in coaching and volunteering with the Clifton Midget League. Known as "Pop Pop" to everyone, Michael loved the NY Giants and NY Yankees but most of all loved his grandchildren's sports teams.
Mr. Chiodo was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary (nee Smagalski) Chiodo.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Barbara (nee Welenc) Chiodo, of Clifton; his two devoted children: Kevin Chiodo and his wife, Jennifer, of Clifton and Kimberly DeLanzo and her husband, Joseph, of Nutley; his dear brother, Robert Chiodo, of Lodi; and four cherished grandchildren: Joseph, Andrew, Breanna and Sophia.
Visiting will be Friday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be Saturday 8:15 am from the funeral home and 9:00 am at St. Agnes RC Church, 681 Main Street, Paterson. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be preferred and appreciated.
