Molly Crocco Obituary

CROCCO - Molly (nee Gonzalez), 88, longtime resident of Clifton passed away on April 14, 2015 with her four children at her side. Born in Newark, NJ on November 6, 1926, she grew up on Race Street in Nutley with her parents and siblings.

As a young woman she worked at George LaMonte & Sons, Nutley, where she met her husband, Joseph. They were married 57 years until his death in 2006. Their 4 children were raised at their Clifton home.

She was a homemaker most of her life. In the 70's, when her children were grown, she was head cashier at Great Eastern Dept. store, West Paterson. She was a lunch aide at both St. Philip's, while her children attended, and from 1982-1993 at School 5, Clifton, with her good friends Betty and Flo. She was active with the Valley Seniors, Young at Heart and Clifton Women's club. Past member of St Philip's Rosary Society. Enjoyed travels to Florida, Las Vegas, Canada and England.

Molly was a loving wife, mother and friend to all. She enjoyed the bygone pastime of relaxing on her front porch with her neighbors.

Survived by her children, Judy and Mary Ellen of Clifton, Joseph, his wife Galina and son Nicholas of Little Falls, and son James of Clifton and her Scottish Terrier Casper. Also sister-in-laws, Linda Nixon, Marie McCormack, Terry Mongiello, Betty Marrone, Pat Crocco and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Alice Zakutney, brothers Raymond, John and Joseph Gonzalez.

Funeral services will be Saturday 9:15 am from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Private cremation to follow. Visiting Friday from 4-8 pm.
