Nicholas Verhagen, 79, current resident of The Villages, Florida and former resident of Totowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 25, 2018.
Born on January 6, 1939 in Paterson, Mr. Verhagen lived in Totowa for many years before retiring to The Villages. Prior to retiring, he was the founder and owner of Ver-Gon Builders, a commercial building company in Clifton. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. from 1957-1965 and was a lifelong member of the Passaic Valley Elks.
Mr. Verhagen is survived by his beloved wife, Vincenza (nee Ciolino) Verhagen; by his three devoted children: Sharon (Curt) Nicholas (Linda) and Lisa; eight cherished grandchildren: John (Breanna), Christina, Corey, Larissa, Nicholas, Marina, Vincent and Alexandra; and adored great-grandchild Jackson; and dear sister Annamae Forlai.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday October 9th from 4-7 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
