Olga (nee Terembes) Fogaris, 94, of Hawthorne, formerly of Passaic, passed away on October 10, 2017. Born in Passaic, Mrs. Fogaris resided there all of her life before moving to Hawthorne. She retired from the Passaic Police Department where she served as the Secretary of the Chief of Police for 52 years.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Ermene Pallantine during World War II; her second husband, Michael Fogaris in 1998; and two sisters, Anna Hook and Marie Klikier.
As matriarch of her family, Olga will be missed by: her daughter, Jane Carlson of Ramsey; her brother, George Terembes; three grandchildren, Stacie Schmookler (& husband Josh), Natalie Cheetham (& husband Marc), and Jeffrey Carlson; great-grandchildren, Olivia , Katelyn, and Penelope Schmookler; and Westley and Genevieve Cheetham; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 am at the funeral home followed by an interment at St. Peter Cemetery in Garfield. To honor her love of reading, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Grove Public Library, 1 Municipal Plaza, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
