Patricia Hopper

Patricia Hopper, 75, of Toms River passed away peacefully on Saturday July 8, 2017 at her home.
Born and raised in Paterson, Ms. Hopper resided in Kearny for 17 years before then moving to Clifton for 24 years until retiring to Toms River in 2013. Before retirement, she was employed as an LPN at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for 15 years. Prior employment had been as a Perfusionist with Passaic General Hospital for 20 years and St. Michael's Hospital in Newark for 10 years. In her youth, Pat was very athletic and was an avid champion swimmer. She played basketball and baseball on the Paterson and North Bergen Debs. She had a love of teaching, her favorite thing being teaching young people to try everything for the experience. She was a parishioner of St. Maximillian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River.
Pat is survived by her wife, Mary Sullivan, of Toms River and her two sisters: Nancy Szipocs of Pennsylvania and Linda (Ashurek) Rosenblatt and her husband, Howard, of Elmwood Park. Devoted aunt to Danielle and Erica Rosenblatt, Robyn Konrad, Jason and Steven Hopper and Cathy Paris. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Tjietske (Tina) (Duyn) Hopper-Ashurek and her brother, Albert Hopper, Jr.
Funeral Services will be 10:45 am Wednesday from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 11:30 am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Rd., Clifton. Private cremation to follow. Visitation Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
