Raymond A. Mattera

Raymond A. Mattera, 73, of Toms River, formerly of Clifton, passed away on December 9, 2018. Born in Hoboken, Mr. Mattera resided in Clifton for many years. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton where he volunteered with Boy Scout Troop #21 and coached the CYO basketball team. Mr. Mattera also volunteered as a basketball and baseball coach with the Clifton Midget League. He also served as a former Passaic County Democratic Committeeman.
Mr. Mattera was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marianne (nee Dekker); his brother, Robert Mattera and his sister, Carol Kanter.
Survivors include: his two sons, Peter J. Mattera and Mark P. Mattera and his wife, Shannon.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Private cremation to follow.
