Salvatore Grassa

Salvatore Grassa, of Clifton, passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
Originally from Brooklyn he came to NJ in the 1950's and moved to Clifton in 1965. He was a technician for New York Telephone Co. (Verizon) for almost 40 years before retiring. Mr. Grassa was a United States Korean War Army veteran. An accomplished baseball player and athlete, Sal was very social person and loved to tell a good joke. He and his wife loved to travel and together they saw the world.
Predeceased by his parents Frank and Catherine Grassa, Sal is survived by his wife, the former Grace Kratz; his son, Jack Grassa and his wife, Tilly of Wayne; and two brothers, Frank Grassa and his wife, Bela of Malverne, NY and Joseph Grassa and his wife, Kathy of Lindenhurst, NY.
Graveside services are 11:30 am Monday at Crest Haven Memorial Park, 750 Passaic Avenue, Clifton. Please meet at the cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
