Stephen Anthony Nugent

Stephen Anthony Nugent, 87, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. Born and raised in Paterson, Mr. Nugent also lived in Hackensack before moving to Clifton over 50 years ago. Prior to retiring, Mr. Nugent was employed as a restaurant manager at Mayfair Farms in West Orange for 47 years.
Mr. Nugent proudly served in the United States Army for six years during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class. Mr. Nugent was a member of the VFW Post #7165 on Valley Road in Clifton and was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maryellen (nee Lemish) in 2013; one son, Stephen E. Nugent; and two sisters, Annamarie Mangin and Geraldine Ada Nugent.
Survivors include: his children, Nathaniel L. Nugent, John Patrick Nugent and his wife Pattiedon, Noralynn Spagnuolo and her husband, Ciro Jerry, Sean M. Nugent and his wife Michele and Robert H. Nugent; four grandchildren, Danielle, Jaclyn, Ryan and Shane; one great-grandchild, Dylan; and his loyal aide, Anna Lopez.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:15 am from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Please omit flowers.
