Stephen Chabra, 74, of Wayne on October 6, 2009.
Born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, Mr. Chabra lived there until age ten when his family moved to Passaic where he then lived until moving to Wayne forty-nine years ago. He was employed as a Machinist with Nabisco in Fair Lawn for fifty years and was a Veteran of the United States Naval Reserves. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Cathedral in Passaic.
Mr. Chabra was predeceased by his brother, George, and by his sisters, Helen Vuksta and Mary Polinak.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Eleanore (nee Pavlinik) of Wayne; by his children: Lawrence Chabra of New York, New York, Susan Stevens of Wayne and Thomas Chabra of Wanaque; and his three grandchildren: Nico Stevens, Nicole Stevens and Andre Chabra.
Funeral services will be Saturday 9:15 am from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10:00 am at St. Michael Cathedral, 96 First Street, Passaic. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parastas 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Michael Cathedral, 96 First Street, Passaic, New Jersey 07055 would be appreciated.
