Steven R. Kuhta

Steven R. Kuhta, 93, of Clifton, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born in Garfield and raised in Passaic, Mr. Kuhta has been a Clifton resident for many years. He had a childhood interest in aeronautics which led to a fulfilling career. After graduating from Passaic High School, he went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Catholic University in Washington DC and then a Masters Degree from New York University in Aeronautical Engineering.
Mr. Kuhta was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Pacific as a member of the Seabees during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #7165 on Valley Road in Clifton.
As a devout Catholic, Mr. Kuhta was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Knights of Columbus Council #11671.
His hobbies included freshwater fishing and following the New York Yankees.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Daisy (nee Moesle) Kuhta in 2009; one son, Robert Kuhta and his brother, Richard Kuhta.
Survivors include: three sons, Thomas Kuhta, John Kuhta and his wife Olga and James Kuhta and his wife Lark; one daughter, Mary Swinson and her husband Mick Whitman ; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kuhta; and five grandchildren, David Kuhta and his wife Melissa, Christopher Kuhta and his wife Michelle; Fleur Kuhta, Andrea Barr and her husband Patrick and Steven Swinson.
Visiting will be held Saturday from 3 to 6 pm and Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, NJ 07013. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton
