KOHLMAN - William F., 76, of Little Falls passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017.
A longtime and active resident of Little Falls, Bill was born in Manhattan and lived briefly in Bronx, NY. His formative years were lived in Rutherford, New Jersey. Bill attended Stevens Academy, in Hoboken, for high school and was graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor's degree in business administration.
Bill devoted most of his professional career to the JC Penney Company, working at its corporate headquarters in New York City and then later joining the Regal Ware Company in Secaucus. Upon his semi-retirement, Bill became an associate with McBride National Services in Franklin Lakes.
In his hometown of Little Falls, Bill served on the Board of Education, Ethics Committee and was a current member of the Planning Board. Amongst all of Bill's civic and philanthropic service, he was most proud of his accomplishments as a Board member of the St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital Foundation. He served as a board member for ten years and held the position of Chairman for the last three years.
Bill was a loyal Jets fan for over 30 seasons, an avid golfer, and an active member of the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, where he served on a multitude of committees over the years.
A friend too many, near and far, Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia, by his son, William Kohlman, Jr. and by his daughter, Kimberly Kohlman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday September 30th at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be donated to St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital Foundation, Attn: Susan Spatt, 224 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, NJ 07470.
